rules: in a text post, list 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. I was tagged by Chloe and Ayse
the Narnia series - CS Lewis: In a nutshell, my childhood. I felt a little betrayed when I realised that Aslan is Jesus, but it still makes me feel fuzzy.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban - JK Rowling: The gateway fandom, I'll reread them again one day. This one has so many of my favourite things in it, oh Lupin and Buckbeak <3
Life of Pi - Yann Martel: Gorgeously written. Makes me think about theology in a new, more beautiful light, and the FUCKING ENDING.
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen: Just 'cause. I like Jane Austen and she's great at writing people but she's just far too good at annoying ones so this is the only one i've ever managed.
Thief of Time - Terry Pratchett: I adore the Discworld, I've chosen this one because it contains one of my favourite quotes.
mistakes in the Background - Laura Dockrill: An adorable collection of poems and illustrations with a motherfuckin sticker sheet in the back.
How to Be A Woman - Caitlin Moran: I've properly got into feminism and de-ignorancing myself since I turned 17, and this book was a big part of this. And hilarious.
Of Mice and Men - I did this for GCSE and loved it a lot, it inspired me in that there isn't a wasted word.
Junk - Melvin Burgess: Because dandelions <3
Submarine - Joe Dunthorpe: The film more than the book, but the story's great and character of Oliver Tate pretty much lives in a corner of my head at this point, he's hilarious and so sweetly misguided.
