el taggingo (I tried, Phil, I tried.)
My friend called this Guten Tagging. NOTHING I CAN TYPE IS WORTHY.
Rule 1: Always post the rules.
Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked and write 11 new ones.
Rule 3: Tag no people and end the infinite chain of questioning.
Rule 4: Subtly change the rules because you don’t actually have 11 Tumblr friends you can't be bothered and you've already been through this once and hope no-one notices.
1) What’s one thing more people should appreciate?
I think people should appreciate comfortable silence... And haikus, I love a good haiku.
2) What’s the coolest foreign word or phrase you know?
'Ohrwurm', which is German for a catchy song that gets stuck in your head, 'demasiado', the overly lengthy spanish word for too, or mamihlapinatapai, which is "a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other will offer something that they both desire but are unwilling to suggest or offer themselves." Considered one of the most succinct words in the world, and properly lovely.
3) If you could remove one fictional character from their work of fiction, who would it be? Why?
ALEC FUCKING D'URBERVILLE CAN FUCK ALL THE WAY OFF AND THEN CONTINUE FUCKING OFF UNTIL HE IS FAR ENOUGH FROM TESS THAT THERE'S NO CHANCE THEY MIGHT EVER INHALE THE SAME AIR. And even less chance that he's going to rape her, entrap her and ruin her life in pretty much every way possible. A nice solid falcon punch for Mr D'Urberville, if you please.
4) What’s the best thing you can type out on a scientific calculator?
Mad clog tan yo - because I imagine that in traditional Holland that's a thing they says pretty regularly
4) Why don’t you have a scientific calculator? This question is not for me, for I am prepared for life and complex soul-crushing maths ^_^
5) If you had to live for the rest of your life in a historical monument, which one would you choose and why?
I have been to like no historical monuments... There's a National Trust house in the Cotswolds that's just full of this eccentric millionaire's collection of random assorted 'treasures', that'd be pretty cool. I like Stonehenge, but there are practical issues with that being outside and whatnot.
6) What does your favourite song make you think of? Love. And Cats. and Robert Smith's adorable little 90s face.
7) What surprised you recently? Just how sappy I actually am in the right scenario. It's totally ruining my reputation of being a hardcore stone-hearted warrior :/
8) What’s the most recent fiction book you read (willingly) and would you recommend it? Oh I've started plenty. The last book I started was Wuthering Heights and I was really enjoying it, but the last book I finished was probably... Submarine by Joe Dunthorpe? I'd definitely recommend, although it's far dirtier than the film so fair warning.
9) What’s the most recent non-fiction book you read (willingly) and would you recommend it? Oh GOD... I am not a great reader of non-fiction, so it may well be How To Be A Woman by Caitlin Moran... That was over a year ago, FUCK. I would recommend the absolute shit out of it though, it's so excellent.
10) What annoys you much more than it annoys normal people? i'm not really a special snowflake, so I don't think my qualms are that unusual. I HATE anyone who leaves a messy table in a cafe, that really gets to me.
11) Who do you predict is the next person you’re going to speak to? Verbally? At this point it'll be my mum in the morning, house has gone to sleep.
These were good questioning, congrats on the questioning Phillip
