Today was definitely a day I'm thankful for Skinny Brew. 💤 That time change had me feeling soooo sleepy and no motivation. Went to church and came home. First thing I did was warm up water in my mug! Today for My #CoffeeADay Initiative, Paul Reynolds and I talked about how he hustles through the whole process.

My CoffeeADay Initiative: 1 cup of coffee with 1 person, every day.

Paul Reynolds is an Architect, a Construction Manager and a Maker. He works for HAUS @hausarch, WERK and, the newest addition, Mach.

That's three hats for three companies, under one umbrella.

Playing all three roles allows Paul to be involved in the design and construction process from the first sketches all the way through fabricating the parts and pieces that bring designs to life.

That realization and process is Paul's dream and his passion. It's also a rare opportunity. There are not that many Architect, Construction Manager, Makers out there.

Today for My #CoffeeADay Initiative, Anna Stumpf and I talked about how she hustles to build next level marketers.

My CoffeeADay Initiative: 1 cup of coffee with 1 person, every day.

Anna Stumpf is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and the Director of the Residential MBA program at Anderson University.

Anna’s had an interesting career path that started with a Marketing degree but then veered into an immersive exploration of the breadth of business, management and marketing aspects of Wal-Mart Stores.

When it was time for something new, Anna knew she needed to share her experience and passion. Teaching seemed like the natural answer.

If you’re one of Anna’s students, you know about your ‘Golden Ticket’: “I’m a college student and I need …” It’s her device to remind the students, not only about their potential, but also about their built-in story. It’s a tale designed to resonate with their most important audience … employers.

Anna is also in charge of Special Projects for Marketing students at Anderson. It’s where she’s helping students leverage their passions and talents to become next level marketers.

Today for My #CoffeeADay Initiative, Paul and Neal Warner and I talked about how they hustle to elevate the coffee game in Indianapolis.

My CoffeeADay Initiative: 1 cup of coffee with 1 person, every day.

I called Paul and Neal the Coffee Brothers. I’m pretty sure I’m not the first to label them as such.

Paul and Neal along with Paul’s wife, Audreyalice are the Co-Owners of Indianapolis’ newest craft coffee bar, Coat Check Coffee. It’s always interesting to learn where small business owners’ journeys begin. None of the Coat Check Co-Owners came from the coffee industry. In fact, Paul and Neal have music education and production backgrounds.

Neal had a coffee awakening in 2010 that eventually led him on a journey from Madison, Wisconsin to Athens, Georgia and finally to Indianapolis. It’s been a whirlwind education that’s placed him in the who’s who of coffee in Indianapolis.

When the brothers decided to team up and then also team up with the Athenaeum Foundation, their goal became to not only elevate the coffee game but the coffee experience in Indianapolis.

Now, surrounded by the richness of the historic Athenaeum building, Young Actor’s Theater, Indy Metro Church, the Rathskellar and the YMCA, Paul and Neal are combining high-quality local roasts, grass-fed milks and award-winning baristas to give city-dwellers and theater-goers a family-friendly coffee experience like no other.

Today for My #CoffeeADay Initiative, Caleb Sorrell and I talked about how he hustles to practice.

My CoffeeADay Initiative: 1 cup of coffee with 1 person, every day.

Caleb Sorrell is a Marketing Student at Anderson University.

Caleb and a buddy are launching a Vintage Clothing search, find and re-sell venture. He seemed to think this was a small thing; something a little bigger than a hobby.

I disagree.

I believe that no matter what becomes of the vintage clothing venture, it is the type of effort that will set Caleb and company apart. The act of launching and marketing and experimenting and pivoting makes Caleb a practitioner.

That’s something that the vast majority of Caleb’s contemporaries won’t be able to say. They’re learning. They’re being educated, but they’re not practicing their art.

Caleb is practicing his art.
