Viktor and his ex s/o meeting up over lunch to discuss joint custody over their 2 year old daughter. After the breakup between the two she refuses to let her daughter go near Yuri.
[I assume this goes with this post?]
Viktor couldn’t bring himself to finish his meal. He pushed the food around on his plate with a fork, staring down blankly at the mix of colors.
His ex sat across from him, hands clasped on top of the table. The two were laden with stress after their split, and together they had met to discuss the custody of their young daughter.
“You still get visiting rights, Viktor.” They slid a piece of paper towards him, listing the details of the case.
Viktor took the sheet and sighed, reading over the text. “What about summers? It’ll be the off-season, so I’ll have time to take care of her.”
“I don’t want her near that man.”
Frowning at the coldness in their voice, Viktor looked up to meet his ex’s eyes. “You mean... Yuri? For what reason?”
His ex looked away, but their voice was firm as they explained, “He lives with you, yes? I refuse to let my daughter stay with him.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Viktor scoffed. “It’s unreasonable. Yuri is a wonderful man, and he would never do anything to hurt her. At least let us talk about this.”
It was obvious his ex was still bitter over Viktor’s love for the man. Though they hated to give in, they had to admit that they had a bias. “Fine. But don’t get your hopes up.”
“...All right.”
