How old are you?: I’m 27! Well, turning 28 soon on November 1st. People think I’m much younger though. I blame my genetics, my love of sunscreen, nonsmoker healthy lifestyle, and lotion collection.
Current job: Lead graphic designer
Dream job: Being a high powered creative director for either a science or fashion company. Think like The Devil Wears Prada except not so much of a “dragon lady”. :)
What are you talented at?: I’m really good at learning! I’m also REALLY good at dancing!! And if you tell me a song, I’ll sing it for you with perfect pitch.
What is a big goal you are working towards, or have already achieved?:
I want a REALLY bangin’ job that I can feel fulfilled at! I’d also love to discover a comet. I’ve also become fairly well known in the NJ goth-industrial scene.
What is your aesthetic?: My aesthetic is dark fashion, corporate goth, astronomy photos taken by Hubble or space probes, military influences, minimalist, and green nature. I aspire to be a modern independent Morticia Addams.
Do you collect anything?: I collect SHOEEESSSS!!!! It doesn’t help that I work at a fashion company and get shoes massively discounted. I also collect purses! :P And plants...and Yugioh cards. Yeh.
What is a topic you’re always up to talk about?: I LOVE talking about science, specifically astronomy. People are often impressed by the level of how much I know. I’m very passionate about science and astronomy education. I host monthly star parties to entertain and educate my friends with my trusty 8″ Dob!
What’s a pet peeve of yours?: My BIGGEST pet peeve is immature people reacting badly to things. Especially with anger.
Good advice to give?: It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. And to preserve your black clothes, separate them in the wash and use Goth Detergent (Woolite Dark).
Recommend three songs?: OKAY I listen to a wide range of genres, so let’s pick my most common ones!
Electro-industrial/power noise - “First Time Optimistic” by Noisuf-X. You could describe Noisuf-X as grinding noisy synths that make you wanna dance ya ass off. Wikipedia describes power noise as: “Power noise (also known as rhythmic noise, noize and occasionally as distorted beat music) is a form of Industrial music and a fusion genre between noise music and various styles of electronic dance music. Typically, power noise is instrumental, based upon a distorted kick drum from a drum machine such as a Roland TR-909, and uses militaristic 4/4 beats. Sometimes a melodic component is added, but this is usually secondary to the rhythm. Power noise tracks are typically structured and danceable, but are occasionally abstract.”
Classic rock/prog rock - “Subdivisions” by Rush. When I saw Rush in concert on their Clockwork Angels tour in 2012, this was the first song they performed and I cried a lot. :’D They’ve been my favorite rock band since I was a kid. And also Geddy Lee is probably my secret rock uncle. Probably.
Progressive house/trance - “Cybernetic” by Grum. OKAY so if there is ONE of these songs you should listen to, CLICK ON THIS ONE!!! It has a DANK ASS music video remixed from a REAL Soviet-era sci fi cartoon!!! It also sounds 80′s as FOCK despite being released in 2010! :0
