I went into the local Brass Tap today for a beer trade before work only to find this gem on draft. Say hello to Real Ale Brewing Company's Coffissar imperial stout. A part of their Mysterium Verum series, they took their Commissar RIS and aged it in two oak barrels with cold brew coffee. I'm not going to do a full review on this one, but it was exactly what I wanted today: a bold, dark, coffee-forward beer that didn't clock over 10%. It's got almost as much force of flavor as Victory Java Cask but it's not going to kill my work ethic for today. Get some if you can!
