He can feel his eyes blinking, doing so to be sure this was all real and not some fabricated daze of the mind, but nothing in his vision seemed to adjust. There was only a permanent darkness that didn’t change. Ren’s voice was masked by a fluctuating, profound buzzing in his head and ears that he can actually feel vibrating back and forth when he does blink his eyes. It’s not the first time someone has punched him in the face so close to his sophisticated eyes, but this may have been the one that marked too many over the years. The result of this being why he found himself on the ground and a throb in the back of his skull joining the problem. If not for the presence of the former Allmate, the fight would have had a worse outcome.
There was a moment where light began to form and he turns his head toward the slender body that began to come into vision. And then with a blink, nothing. It’s dark again. He raises a hand to give them a quick rub, a thought of something maybe being knocked loose and he can move it back in place with just that, but… “I can’t..” Trip cut himself off, stopping at the lack of sound to his own voice in his ears, it too drowned by the buzzing sound. He doesn’t seem to be too alarmed by this, however. Just takes a moment to wipe at the place of impact where heat filled his face and something moist slid against his knuckles and into the lining between his fingers. Perhaps if that voice was closer, he could hear it better and try to focus on matching a face to it.
