Unfortunately my brain has discovered that Lewis Carroll's lengthy poem "The Hunting of the Snark" can be read/sung to the tune of Tom Waits' "Cold, Cold Ground."

Cold Cold Ground - Tom Waits
cold cold ground at the eugene o'neill theatre oct 15 1987
Tom Waits - Cold Cold Ground. I do a countdown of my favourite songs of all time not chronologically and this is the first I put.
Favourite song #1
It reminds me of ‘Léolo’ (1992), because it is from this film, which is one of my favourite of all time as well. The delightfully raw voice of Tom Waits is haunting with imagery of the rough side of the street and the lives of others. I’ve always appreciated Tom for his storytelling and his own unique nature. A bona fide presence with a heavy serene quality.
Cold cold ground. Tom Waits.
Here's more Tom Waits. This time i have a live version of Cold Cold Ground.
One of my favorites, period.
A great song for any winter playlist.
Tom Waits, “Cold Cold Ground” from the Frank’s Wild Years album in 1987.
His voice doesn’t sound the best but the story at the beginning makes up for it.
This is cool.
