Minnie had just finished an evening shift. 

She normally didn’t do these shifts because by the time she was able to go home it was already very dark, but it also wasn’t past curfew either, so it was a trek on home in the dark for her. 

The brunette hadn’t made it that far from the hospital, tucking her bag in tow when she was stopped by a figure that appeared out of no where from the shadows. She couldn’t quite make out the guy, there was still a cast of darkness shadowing over his features. 

“Umm, beg my pardon but... are you in need of anything?” 

She was responded with a slow and almost menacing laugh, gruff and threatening. It sent a chill down Minnie’s spine the brunette taking a step back getting ready to leave and not look back. In that moment, her wrist was grasped tightly pain instantly searing up her arm and her bag dropping to the ground. 

Minnie’s body was rammed hard up against a wall building the brick cutting into her skin as she tried to squirm from the hold placed on her. The man inched closer his features appearing more clearly under the light of the moon. 

“You remember who am now, don’t you? Our last incident cost me much.”

It was a patient the nurse had once who had attacked her while she had gone ahead and started grabbing some vital signs. The brunette couldn’t understand why he was here, she hadn’t pressed charges and as words were about to come out of her panic stricken throat, the man had jabbed his knee sharply right into her ribs and stomach. 

Minnie fell to the ground, tears blurring her sight and pain clawing her body. She felt the edge of his boot this time the contacting ten times more piercing as the man’s hand wrapped themselves around her throat to grab her full attention.

“I thought I’d repay the visit this time.”

Dear Editor, The Akali Dal showcased the beautification around the Golden Temple as a party feat. And it does look pretty in pictures, but my visit there recently came as a reality check.
