Daily Fic Highlight: To Be Spoken By the Stars Themselves
Today's winner of the kudos email is:
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
"To Be Spoken By the Stars Themselves" is a Jack/Sandy ficlet that I wrote as a fill for one of the prompts in Round 1 of the Rise of the Guardians Dreamwidth Kinkmeme. It explores Sandy's way of communicating with Jack, and Jack's reaction to hearing Sandy say his name. 558 words, T, M/M.
This was one of my earlier fills in this project and I still really like it.
I also think of it fondly because @emeraldembers made a podfic of it, and this is the link to that podfic.

...this slow transformation that Jack can barely attend to tells him a truth, truth he can only interpret later as part of Sandy’s answer when he asks, “Why? Why me? Why someone so young and insignificant?” Because you are not afraid to dance with the wild, uneven ticking of the universe that is almost exactly like and almost exactly nothing like a watch, because you know that if an idea has lips it probably wants to be kissed...
I will never resist these types of Gold, and for Blake... it's more worse that the other ones /pos

Daily Fic Highlight: How To Say “I’m Glad You’re Back”
Today's winner of the kudos email is:
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
"How to Say 'I'm Glad You're Back'" is a Jack/Sandy ficlet that I wrote as a fill for one of the prompts in Round 1 of the Rise of the Guardians Dreamwidth Kinkmeme. After the events of the movie, Jack is finally able to react to Sandy coming back from the dead by hugging him and refusing to let him go. 783 words, G, M/M.
As I say in the Ao3 summary for this one, this is basically fluff without plot.
Sample:
Looking at Sandy, Jack couldn’t tell if he wanted to shout for joy or cry overwhelmed tears. Sandy had been gone. Really, truly gone, eaten away by nightmare sand, and all good dreams with him. And Jack had lost the one person he would have felt confident calling a friend before being chosen as a Guardian. He had been a bit of a strange friend, naturally, since Jack had never been able to see him as much as he liked, and he couldn’t always understand what Sandy was saying or how his train of thought was flowing, but Sandy was always glad to see him and spend time with him. He was never afraid of him, and he encouraged Jack’s experiments with his powers. Watching him disappear had been the worst thing Jack had ever seen. Watching him reappear, though–that had been the best.
