Cold Ground (2017)

A fairly typical found footage film, although it does derive a bit of notability from the snowy atmosphere and 1970s setting. Like most films of its type, there is a slow and fairly suspenseful buildup, but the whole time you know that it's just leading to a climax of running around the woods from some barely-seen monster. So overall it's a fun ride, and gives you something a little different from the pack, but don't really defy expectations.

That a found footage film in 2017 would continue to make the exact same mistakes that the sub-genre of horror has been making since its rise to mainstream appeal in 2007 (Paranormal Activity) is simply stunning.
