warning for people with dogs in the us right now: this cold strike is dangerous not only to you, but to them. i let my bichon out to pee and she wasnt even able to finish before she started crying out in pain and limping back to the door; i think the snow was making her paws so cold they instantly started hurting. i ran out and picked her up and wrapped her in a towel to dry them and then several blankets to warm her up, but god, i've never heard her make that noise before. my mom even heard it from upstairs. keep an eye on your pets this winter!!

There is an extreme cold alert for Toronto and a homeless person rescue has been issued. If you see a homeless person call 311 and give their description and location and a team will be set out to bring them to the nearest warm shelter. You don’t have to do anything but call 311, not even talk to them. It is extremely cold and everyone deserves to be safe in this weather. Please spread the message!!

This is real guys - even if you’re from another city or another part of the world with a cold warning and you see a homeless person, contact your nearest shelter to see what they can do. Same goes for stray animals, call animal control if you see a stray animal that shouldn’t be out in the cold. No one should be out in this -30 degree weather :(

If you happen to live where it's cold out, PLEASE cover up! I forgot to cover my ears last night in -17c weather, and I have a touch of frostbite in one. It hurts an awful lot, so don't let this happen to you! Stay safe! 😘
