ALRIGHT FINE. YOU WANT HAPPY? HAVE SOME HAPPY. SINCE APPARENTLY EVERYONE SHIPS FAINA/HAPPINESS. HAVE SOME CANON OTP BABY. FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A DOG. DO YOU GET MUCH HAPPIER THAN THAT? I THINK NOT!
Feliks has a good person. Maybe even the best person.
There are other people – lots of other people. Feliks sees them when they go on walkies. Person looks happy when they go for walkies, but Feliks knows she is waiting and watching like she expects the other people to bite – people don’t bite, Feliks thinks.
Sometimes his Person doesn’t sleep. Sometimes she does but wakes up making sounds. Feliks knows what to do, he sits by her shoulder and nuzzles her until she stop panting. He gets rewarded with a scratch behind the ears and sometimes he gets to sleep under the covers. Most nights, though, he sleeps at her feet – bed, couch, it does not matter. He usually wakes up before Person and watches her until she starts to stir. He licks the tip of her nose and Person laughs, even with her eyes close. She makes sounds – better sounds – and hugs him close, scratching his ears. Feliks likes getting his ears scratched.
Feliks watches her when she is not sleeping, too. He watches when she curls up in the soft ‘nyet lyezhat’ blanket and makes a small sigh. He watches Person when she goes up onto the roof, when it’s covered in the cold white stuff. Person rolls in it, builds with it, makes balls that melt when Feliks tries to catch them in his mouth. She makes a good sound when he does that.
Person makes that sound when she eats–biscuits that look like they are for Feliks but Person says they will make dogs sick. Sometimes Person eats the cold stuff from a carton and makes that sound, too. Maybe Feliks will make the sound if she lets him eat some. She never does.
Person talks to him, but they are sounds that Feliks does not understand. He thinks that it is okay, though. Person talks, Feliks gets belly rubs, and then they are both good. He thinks she is telling him that he is good and that she will take care of him – with food and belly rubs, and no more people who kick or big dogs that bite.
She is a good person, Feliks thinks. Maybe even the best person.
