( JOE KEERY, CISMALE, HE/HIM ) TJ RHODES is a TWENTY-TWO year old ENGLISH MAJOR in town. They’re often described as +ASTUTE and +QUICK-THINKING, but -CYNICAL and -SUSPICIOUS at the same time. They claim that they’re a SKEPTIC to the supernatural occurrences, but in this small town, anything is possible.
alrighty ! so this kid tj? a Meme. but let’s start from the beginning. theodore jameson rhodes ( the fourth !! ) is the only son of one of coldbrook’s most prominent, influential families. they own a Lot of stuff around town, ranging from grocery stores to hotels and other type of conglomerates, the rhodes family thing is basically acquiring new businesses and seeing to it so they thrive. their whole life is a monopoly game, tbh.
so tj, hates being called theodore ( although he’s partial to theo ), has always had a silver spoon in his mouth, but the rhodes are very partial to merit, so they always encouraged tj to go after his own projects.
from a very early age, tj knew he was born to succeed. he’s always been very hardworking, his academics were spotless, but the area in which tj truly succeeded was sports. as the local quarterback, tj had all eyes on him. he was quite the popular kid in high school, but never practiced any form of bullying or shunning other people. a quality his parents hadn’t unforeseen but served them greatly, tj is completely charismatic and probably hasn’t one mean bone in his body.
he’s friends w p much all kinds of people, likes to hang out and party and just yk, chill out with his friends and those he has closest to his heart. also somewhat of a truly romantic, though he tends to downplay his feelings so as not to scare off any potential love interests in his life.
everyone thought that tj would soar and leave coldbrook after he finished hs, but he decided to stick around, majoring in english ( much to his parents’ distate ). his relationship with his parents can be harsh at times, but there’s undoubtedly a lot of love involved. he tends to have a greater affinity with his mother, and his father is a little more stern, but tj has great respect for him and there’s some sort of cumplicity between the two.
tj is incredibly loyal and protective to his friends, and would do whatever is in his power to help them out whenever they need or cheer them up whenever they feel out of whack. he’s 100% the guy who sends memes on the gc and nEVER takes anything seriously, which can be a little bit of a problem
he doesn’t think he writes all that well, which is bullshit, bc he’s good, but he’s v ashamed of showing his own writing to other ppl.
other than that??? he’s v chill, tries to be funny but.... fails tbh, and is always ready to talk abt 500 different things. his mind runs faster than his tongue tbh, a memer and a fucjing idiot sometimes. v dork, means 100% well and doesn’t like to see people hurt. a good bean tbh

rachel is a coldbrook native and despite both of her parents being believers, she is a skeptic. she thinks that there has to be something else going on, maybe a cult, or something, but nothing supernatural. seeing is believing and she ain’t seen SHIT.
she left coldbrook after her second year of university bc she could feel her life falling into an easy path and she got scared. she would have married her high school boyfriend, had a couple kids, and lived in coldbrook all her life just like her parents. that freaked her out so she signed up for the semester abroad program and decided she would go see the world.
rachel spent a semester in italy and loved every second of it. she spent all of her downtime exploring europe and all it had to offer. of course she met someone and fell in love, and they travelled together for awhile, but when things started feeling serious she did what she did best and she ran. with no money and really nothing to keep herself supported in a foreign country (she’d dropped out of school after the semester so she could keep travelling) she had no choice but to move back to coldbrook to finish her degree.

she’s bisexual but has never told anyone. her first and only serious relationship with a woman was when she was in europe and things ended when she came home.
she’s never gotten her drivers license. the town is small enough that it never felt necessary.
her parents both live and work in coldbrook and she is currently living with them while she finishes up her degree at the university. while she isn’t sure exactly what she wants to do, her major is in criminology.
she runs. a lot. she runs every day until she can barely breathe and her feet ache. in one way or another she’s been running all her life. it’s what she does best.

lola was born in the dominican republic, but only lived there for two years before moving to gringo land (aka the united states). her parents are diplomats so when she was younger she was always moving around. miami, el salvador, peru, brazil, argentina, mexico. every once in a while, her life was uprooted, and she had to start all over again.
because of that, lola had to learn how to make friends really fast, and most important of all, not to get attached to them. after a while, she got really good at it. the girl could consider someone her best friend upon having only just met them, but at the same time, she wouldn’t miss them if she left.
she is someone who thrives on adventure and always dreamt about being an investigative journalist. went to college in boston but transfered to new york in her junior year because she gets bored sO easily and once she hits the two year mark she starts longing for elsewhere.
moved to coldbrook two years ago, lured in by the supernatural occurrences in town. she quickly got a job at the daily coldbrook but honestly ?? was kinda bummed by the lack of supernatural spottings.
still, she made the town her home with ease. by her first week she knew everyone and by her second she was attending town hall meetings and ready to fight anyone for keeping the name of the bigfoot motel (idk i had to make up something bUT YOU GET IT stupid lil things like that)
eventually started dating cassandra maythorne but beat herself up bc she was getting ?? too attached ??? and now they’re engaged and she’s suffocated and starting to get bored and doesn’t know what to do and just wants to move oUT of coldbrook but is afraid to bring it up with cassie
bUT LIKE now that the whole ‘’’’’’abduction’’’’’’’ thing has happened, she’s vv much pouring herself into work and finding out what happened to these girls and was it really supernatural or just a kidnapping or smth ??
she actually is a vv strong believer and has been trying to type up a book on the supernatural happenings in coldbrook for a while but has never witnessed one. until now.

so first of all she’s not a coldbrook native !! she came over when she got into coldbrook university to study criminology even though that’s not what she really wanted to do. it was kind of a last minute decision and now she has absolutely !! no idea what she’s gonna do with her life.
before that, she’d moved around a lot as a kid just because she was raised by just her mother. and unfortunately, her mother had a rotating door of boyfriends with a similarly rotating door of demands. so they moved a lot.
it wasn’t something she especially minded it just ?? happened ??
honestly she has no idea ?? what she’s doing with her life around the last month of school she was like ?? fuck i think i did the wrong thing. but she had absolutely no idea how to confront it.
so when she finished her degree she got kinda stuck. and as been stuck ever since, she didn’t really see the sense in leaving coldbrook to just go be confused somewhere else. except there she’d be confused and lonely so she just voted ?? for the lesser of two evils.

she has all these exciting fantasies and goals she’d love to make a reality but ?? she literally does nothing to make them happen. like she will have long elaborate plans and conversations about what she’d do on a roadtrip across all fifty states or what she’d do as a deputy or a cop but ?? when u suggest she actually does, she clams up real hard and says she can’t. probably just?? wants the stability she never got throughout her childhood ??
she’s also ?? highkey insecure which highkey one of the reasons she’s been so stuck is she refuses to actually be proactive in her life. she’s just kind of like a passenger chilling. pls teach her to adult.
she got a job as a tour guide for the supernatural tours because it just sounded like something that would pass the time without being mind-numbing. even though it had absolutely nothing to do w her major. the pay was decent too so she was sold.
