his  arms  are  around  leonard  in  seconds ,  drawing  him  close  to  his  chest  as  if  that  would  calm  him.   one  hand  is  against  his  head ,  storking  down  towards  his  neck  in  a  soothing  manner.    “   you’re  alright.   you’re  alright  ,  i  got  you.   “   he’s  had  many  of  sleepless  nights  because  of  similar  reasons  and  he  knows  that  if  he  hadn’t  had  his  dad  there  and  he  was  alone ,  getting  through  them  would  be  so  much  worse  ;   so  now  it  was  time  for  him  to  be  the  leaning  post.

“   and  here  i  thought  you  were  about  to  compliment  me.    but  okay ,  you’re  right.   “

“   and  you  think  i  don’t    ??    .  .  .   do  you  know  me  at  all   ??   “

“   look  ,  you’re  the  one  who  agreed  that  i  could  bring  him  over.   “   but  because  of  his  sisters  fear  of  dogs ,  stiles would  have  to  keep  him  in  the  bedroom   ;   in  case  of  a  surprise  visit.    “   he’s  been  holed  up  in  here  all  day ,  you  can’t  ask  me  to  move  him  now.   “

words  are  overheard  from  where  he  cooks  in  the  kitchen ,  phone  conversation  anything  but  secret ,   he  leans  to  look  through  to  where  leonards  sits  before  raising  his  voice  as  he  yells  ,    “   he  really  does ,  i  hate  it   !    “

lay  in  bed  ,  tangled  in  each  other   ;   stiles  has  his  head  resting  on  leonards  chest  when  he  speaks ,  hearing  the  words  as  well  as  them  echoing  within.   he  smiles ,  looks  up  into  those  icy  blue  eyes  and  leans  to  press  a  kiss  against  his  lips.       “   a  good  one ,  i  hope.   “

“   leonard  ,   put  the  gun  away.   “   he  understands  and  appreciates  the  sentiment  but  he  doesn’t  want  more  violence.   getting  hurt  or  threatened  or  kidnapped  ,  it  was  all  part  and  parcel  of  dating  a  criminal  mastermind   ;   he  was  one  of  leonards  weak  spots ,  and  therefore  walked  with  a  target  on  his  back.   he  knew  this  from  the  beginning ,  and  if  he  needs  to  be  a  little  roughed  up  from  time  to  time  then  so  be  it ,  so  long  as  he  can  come  home  and  relax  with  his  boyfriend.   he  may  be  older ,  but  sometimes  stiles  felt  as  though  he  was  a  little  more  wise.    “   you  go  after  them  you’re  playing  into  their  hands.   don’t  show  them  weakness  ;   stay  here  and  show  them  our  strength.   “
