Climbing out of my crafting pit to bring these to your feet for consideration//
I have been working on these since September 24 and BY GOLLY, I'm happy with the results!! Here's what I did with all my beetle drawings from Coleoctober. Mini Beetle Frames!!!!
I made the art, I made the frames, I made the prints, I put em together!
I finally got everything how I want it. It is quite time consuming to put these things together, but oh, worth.

COLEOCTOBER DAY 4
The Giraffe Weevil, Trachelophorus giraffa
They spend the majority of their lives in the trees of Madagascar, and males use their funny long necks for everything from combat to attracting mates. The males will dance and wave their long necks to females, who will then evaluate if they are a worthy mate.
COLEOCTOBER DAY 2
The Atlas beetle, Chalcosoma atlas
Named after Atlas who supported the skies for their giant 3 horns. It is a massive beetle that can attain lengths up to 4.7 inches, with males being larger than females.
COLEOCTOBER DAY 5
The two-spotted ground beetle, Anthia thoracica
These fearsome, extremely fast and active hunters are native to Africa where they run down prey. When they find themselves on the defensive, they can shoot a strong jet of acid from their pygidial gland. They are thus called “oogpister” – meaning "eye pisser."
COLEOCTOBER DAY 6
It's the final day of coleoctober and we have this giant!
The Elephant Stag Beetle, Lucanus elaphus
Now you might be thinking, "ah yes, elaphus, for elephant!" BUT NO! Elaphus is Greek for deer, which is extremely fitting for this guy, yes? He really seems to be sporting some fancy antlers, which they similarly use to grapple with other males! These guys can be found in the woods of North America.
COLEOCTOBER DAY 1
The Hercules beetle, Dynastes hercules
Named after Hercules for their incredible strength, they are the longest beetle in the world. They are capable of reaching lengths up to 7.1 inches with the horn included!
More Coleoctober. Can you image a beetle so ROUND, it's PROFOUND. From reference, this is Lamprosomatinae.
No reference this time, just a nice little shiny beeble for Coleoctober.
