If you’re not paying to the details in @volker.hermes’ digitally contemporized photo collages of historical paintings, ooo come on – grab a magnifying glass so you don’t miss out! You would never know that he DIDN’T painstakingly paint this piece, called “Hidden Voiriot III” (2020), with the tiniest brushes and a saintly amount of patience. The operative word is **painstakingly**. He did, indeed, painstakingly clone elements from the original painting in order to create his own new visual tapestry. So…the COVID-era mask that this lovely silver-haired lady is wearing?
