Michael Sjostedt at Home and Homme in Amherst, Massachusetts through 30 September 2017. Working with artistic restrictions is not new to Sjostedt who, for this body of collage, worked within self-imposed and predetermined limitations, forcing experimentation that led to unexpected inspiration. The artist relegated his source material and subject matter to ordinary, overlooked objects that have aesthetic and emotional limitations in art. MORE

Triumph for Women

Isabella Huffington at Anastasia Photo in New York City through 19 August 2017. Each collage featured in the exhibition explores a different aspect of women’s participation in U.S. government, both historically and in Huffington’s view of the future. The exhibition presents both questions of concern and words of triumph for women’s equal representation and respect in the political arena. Included in the show’s pieces is an ode to powerful women in American history, the eyes of women who have served in the House of Representatives, words that have been used against female politicians, and those that reclaim power.
