I think the instant I joined my (assistant prof) PI's lab, I realized I did not want to be a prof at a major research institution.

Seriously. I’m kind of glad for it though, you know? It really sucks but they’re valuable lessons. And yes, I decided after 2 weeks at my program that teaching at an R1 will not be what I do (although I guess I should see what private R1s are like but I feel like they’re no different).

According to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, many pharmacy graduate programs require one to have taken a physics course in undergrad.

Thanks for the input. The person who asked is canadian but I imagine the standards are similar. I myself took two physics courses at BCIT.

Was I comparing and contrasting to make a point? Yes. Was I looking down on the US i.e. holier than thou? Absolutely not.

I'm just as critical about canada as I am about the US. When I see injustices I do talk about them and I do criticize them. That shouldn't be seen as a negative thing.
