THEY HAD GIVEN HIM BLOOD AND DEATH, CARVED from the skulls of men, and they had brought him other’s terror in the form of cities ruined and prisoners taken. they had given him FOLLOWERS in the number of hundreds and thousands, an army that was his to command and his alone. they were fleeting, however. where one fell another would rise, rinse and repeat, and while that was good in theory, one life traded for another to keep his army ETERNAL, he required someone who could fell ten men before they were cut down.
“ i can grant you the power, elric of melniboné, ” enticing words and so very hard to say no to; his words were those of a GOD of DEATH, true to a certain degree, and he spoke them as TRUTH to his rather unfortunate .... colleague, “ that you so desperately need. the power to strike down your enemies, and the power to keep those that you CHERISH with you ... forever. ”
