Hello, welcome to the second episode of me eating all the Alden Crowley crumbs i can find

I WILL BE elaborating on their connection to the Ancients here

This is the only confirmed image of one of the Ancients we currently have, as far as I'm aware. The key characteristics are the height, the... Whatever's going on around the back of the head, and the face, which appears almost sculpted?

In my last post, I thought the "cloaks and golden masks" were the characteristics of Ancients in general, but now I realize that's probably just referring to the Scholar Of The Empyrean Set. Which would also gain weight since that note was referring to the choosing of someone to take care of a Night Sanctum. Which is what these Scholars do. I'm not a great lore digger, be patient, please.

...Well, this doesn't look like Alden at all, now does it?

The image with an Ancient is in black and white, so I can only theorize that maybe the face is also a very pale gold, resembling a mask? If that's the case, that'd be a lot more like my beautiful wonderful spouse mwah i love this freak ANYWAY

But this would be a good time to point out that Alden seems slightly short? To me, at least. Definitely not freakishly tall. But who knows, maybe there's some insane diversity going on with the Ancients? Maybe? Possibly!? I have little to nothing to work with!!!!

It's stated in-game that the whole Elixir thing is news to Alden, who was stuck in the Hollow Halls for god knows how long. So... They're younger than the flameborn, obviously.

They do seem really interested in the Flame itself though, and "claim to be flame touched themselves, but would not elaborate" (I don't have a screenshot on hand, sorry :[ ). You know what lore this goes along with?

Unforeseen - Humanity is ephemeral! Nothing but a brief moment in time, a breath long taken, the blink of an eye! Yet - despite their mortal nature - they have created fire. A flame of their own to brighten their impending doom.

This sounds like Alden, doesn't it? Just... A lot more enthusiastic than usual.

The fascination with humans is a defining trait for the younger Ancients, but... That's for another post. I don't want this getting too long. Does anyone actually read these?

Welcome to the first episode of my shitty attempts at lore digging, specifically regarding Alden Crowley:

Based on this description, the theory of Alden being one of the Ancients makes more sense. At first I paused like "Wait, aren't they just wearing a mask instead of a helmet?" but how would I know?? They've got a hood on! Maybe there's a whole helmet under there!!

I WANT ONE IT LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME
