“Of course.” Nodding, he turned to look back outside while he waited.
Gabriel accessed all he knew about the brothel and Madame Prudence: a book with all purchases in a safe, workroom locked at all times, connections to certain members of nobility and sponsorship by others. He simply needed to arrange who’d be the most probable target for their heist, Gabriel was sure Lea had no small amount of suggestions.
Good thing for the start of the month, too. Gabriel just needed to remember to ask her for a runner, someone of trust, and the details would be mostly settled. The rest would be mainly up to him.
Speaking of Lea, she emmerged from the deths of the long hallway and, casting her a momentary side-glance, Gabriel made a gesture to signify the driver to stay. That done he turned to face her once again.
“Good. I hope your sister’s ceremony was pleasant, I take it was a private one?” The tone of his question left enough room for her to put it to a stop, he hoped.
It was simply curious not to know. Most locals had seemed to prefer to marry with an Overseer as witness if not in Holger’s Square. Not that Gabriel was there to witness, at most he received a note on the ceremonies underway and of how much the couple had donated to the Abbey.
