I don't think that anyone should have to be thankful just to be alive, surviving, or making it. We should be allowed to actually LIVE, at least a little. We shouldn't have a society where people need to be brainwashed by religion or emotionally abused into being grateful for being given the bare minimum, especially when everything here was stolen and we were branded as slaves from birth with a certificate and a number. Society functions much better when people care for each other. If I have to pay taxes, I want health care. I want others to have health care so we all don't get sick or have our country fall apart from a pandemic. I want education for everyone. Just like all the other modern countries in the world. Americans have no reason to be proud or patriotic right now. I live in Guam so I can't vote, but this is why I'll support #berniesanders just like I did last election. Books on shelves — just like Hogwarts, kids! | Northwestern University Main Library | Evanston, IL 2015 | The North Shore Suburbs series⁣⁣⁣ NU library’s exterior mimics the spines of books on a bookshelf…one of the biggest selling points on a college campus tour is how great their library/campus looks!…even high school open houses will celebrate their Hogwarts vibe (lookinatchu Iggy, also NU’s older library aka Deering) My veteran advice for prospective students at any school would be to visit campus and request a tour during the shittiest weather of the year. Then go inside the library and directly ask the students how they genuinely feel about their life/school/the concept of an entire term quarter dedicated to the season winter on icy lakefront property with an extra round of final exams compared to everyone else. And the irony is that nowadays, I personally would still rather be a student in freezing (and friendly!) Chicago than fiery Cali or stormy Florida. None of this is to sound bitter about the quality of my world-class education: my teachers and classes at Northwestern were the best part about my experience, but my classmates and the social culture at Northwestern were the worst part. My purpose here is to remind you that the energetic frequencies of the people surrounding us on a daily basis will strongly impact our personal frequencies. You know this already; you are inherently intuitive. Every one affects every one else energetically, impacting our mental, emotional, social, cultural, economic, political, and spiritual states. Happiness, cynicism, smoking, divorce, and other self-care habits and worldviews travel in packs. When I was in that library, I psychically felt like 100 people were poking me at all times because of the anxiety in the air. Not to mention the palpable insecurity of students on campus, which as we know breeds so much intolerance, repression, segregation, and homogeny. I’m just sayin, when they talk about DECORRR, make sure you ask about AMBIENCEEEE. And remember the positive impact you can have on yourself and others by taking agency over the energy.
