Self-care is NOT selfish. It’s more than okay to take care of yourself! Please do.
Let people know that you are overwhelmed. People are really understanding and they want you to take care of yourself. Chances are they’ll make suggestions or check in to see how you’re doing. People want to be helpful so don’t be afraid to ask for things. Need an extension on that paper? Ask your professor.
Have some time to yourself. Spending some time alone can help you de-stress.
Nurture yourself. Do something that you don’t normally get to do. If you like being in the outdoors, go out for a walk. Listen to some music, exercise, watch a movie, read a book, etc.
Re-prioritize, it’s okay to come back to things later.
Most importantly, be forgiving and kind to yourself.

2. Mental Imagery

3. Self-Recitation
Repetition and rehearsal help with speed, accuracy, and confidence.
4. Organization, Association, Relating
New information is easier to retrieve when it’s organized according to a pattern. Relate it to something you already know and you’re bound to remember more!
Some General Strategies:
Note cards, great for foreign languages
Recreate graphs and charts, this works great for social sciences
Find a study group and quiz each other
Spaced study, don’t try to cram everything in one night
