"Woah you're one the track team? You must really like to run."
Race Recap: 1/21
I raced the 3k at ASU and placed 5th with an altitude converted time of 11:01!
Before the race I think doing a shorter warm-up helped and so did stretching periodically throughout the day. Starting out I went a little too hard staying with the leaders and came through the mile at 5:48 but I didn’t fall off too terribly once I let them go and still did pretty well considering I was in no-man’s-land most of the race. I felt good and strong the entire race which was a big change from last week where I felt dead with 800m to go and didn’t even go as fast.
After the race I had a fartlek workout where I went 2x3min, 2x2min, 2x1min and including the 1.5min, 1min, 1min, “off” jogs respectively I got in 2.69 miles just from that! then I cooled down to 3 miles and was thoroughly worn out.
I’m so excited to build off this and crush some workouts before my 5k in two weeks!
New shoes, new adventures ☄
