So you go on holiday and you are planning to take it easy in the running front for a couple of weeks. But on your first morning at the place you see people dressed are runners 🏃 sticking papers indicating the route of a race on the road right outside your hotel. You ask the hotel what this is all about. Apparently it’s a 12km race between villages at 9pm on that day. You immediately decide you have to take place, after all this will be your Sunday run done Saturday night, and you’ll get to know the area too. So you go register. All good. Then the people start warming up and you start wondering who the hell these people are. The race starts and it’s down hill at first, you are doing 3.55’/km but everyone is passing you. You look behind to genuinely see if you are last, wondering whether you have accidentally joined a race for the Italian Championship. It’s going to be a tough 12km. And it was, but also unforgettable. We went through 3 beautiful villages, ran in total darkness at parts, to the extent I wasn’t sure if I was going up or down, and went through a patch full of fireflies. I totally earned my pizza for the next couple of days!!!! #holidayrunning #holidayracing #runitaly #collemarathon #runnersofinstagram #runningmotivation #runningblogger #worldrunners #running #runner (at Mondavio) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzX3-5PIPJD/?igshid=qxfzdj2h0jlw
