Transferring: Do I Have Any Regrets?
Transferring: Do I Have Any Regrets?
Throwback to August 2016 when I was excited to start attending UMass Boston.
Those of you who either know me personally or have been reading my posts know that at the beginning of my sophomore year I transferred schools. However, I don’t think many of you know why so let me just recap that.
Originally, UMass Boston was my first choice and at the time I wanted to major in Nutrition. But afterwards…

Time Flies
I almost didn’t write today, but I couldn’t go two days without writing. I actually meant to write yesterday but I was so unbelievably exhausted. Yesterday I got to watch my boyfriend graduate college. I was so proud of him as I watched him walk across the stage and get his diploma. Sitting through his graduation I kept thinking back to my graduation weekend last year. I remember being so excited the days leading up to graduation, I couldn’t wait to leave school. I had so much going on emotionally, so all I wanted was to leave and now I would do anything to go back to college. I had so much fun in college, I didn’t have the typical college experience. I didn’t party every weekend, didn’t drink a lot and I didn’t join a sorority, nothing was typical about my college experience. But I had a lot of fun, I had my group of friends, and found my family (rugby). College was great and I wish I had realized that while I was there. But last year at this time I couldn’t contain my excitement. I remember waking up graduation morning and goofing around with my roommate and getting ready together. The anticipation graduation morning was the killer, we had to line up in alphabetical order in our campus center and we had to wait there for about an hour or so. Walking out to the field where the ceremony was taking place was the most exciting moment of my life and as we walked to the field the professors were lined up clapping for us and it took everything I had to not cry. I was so proud of myself, graduating college is an amazing accomplishment. My graduation was hot but absolutely beautiful. Having my name called and walking across that stage I felt like I was floating, it was so surreal. After the ceremony I went to a nice lunch with my family and the day was beautiful. But my graduation night ended in tears, because I was completely left alone. My sisters had gone back home, my parents went back to the hotel, roommate went to her boyfriends house, and everyone else was moving out or going back home. I sat in my apartment and cried and watched movies. I felt like everyone had abandoned me my family, friends, and the guy I was seeing at the time had cheated on me just a week or so prior. My life was in turmoil and I felt so utterly alone and didn’t know what to do. I eventually had my roommate come back and moved out and back home. But because my graduation weekend kind of sucked I wanted to make my boyfriends as special as possible and I think I achieved that.
