All Things Fall: Massive 3D-Printed Zoetrope by Mat Collishaw

English contemporary artist Mat Collishaw has created an incredibly spectacular Zoetrope (the device to demonstrate the motion pictures based on the inertia of the human eye) printed the 3D-printer. Zoetrope is based on the story of the painting by Peter Paul Rubens’ “Massacre of the Innocents” and consists of 350 pieces.

        La obra de Collishaw suele explorar la ambigua relación entre realidad y representación mediante el uso de estrategias de visualización que hacen aparente esta disyuntiva. Se cuestiona con gran eficacia la voracidad de los medios y la pasividad del espectador, delimitando una sulfúrica zona de representación en la que la cámara actúa como arma de seducción masiva.
