“Why is it that we [Africans] don’t trade with each other? Something that simple. We’re unable to accomplish it because when you go to that boardroom table with a colonized mind, your THINKING is colonized, the OUTCOME is colonized. It is SICKENING.”
Dear Swirlers,
In 5 words or less, please explain how you are able to willingly give your body to the very people who are now, have always been, and will always be set on your physical, financial, emotional and spiritual demise?
Confused as Hell,
The Unbridled Tongue
Ughh, gross

followers, report the hell out of this, please!
Yall pledge allegiance and undying devotion to a flag that represents a country that ruled IN SUPREME COURT that Black people were not American citizens, were never intended to be American citizens, and would never be American citizens.
And have the nerve to think this country and its justice systems give a fuck about you. Let that sink in.
Dark eyes.
I feel the light-eyes reverence too strongly. For years and years and looked at my nearly-black eyes as boring, felt a pang of hurt whenever people would describe my eyes as black and lean close enough to make them see that my eyes were just really dark brown, that they weren't that soulless. It wasn't until the past few years that I began to appreciate them, with the start of a friend who told me my eyes were beautiful, that she found the light eyes of her white peers almost uncomfortable to look at; that my eyes made her feel at home. Of course, I still felt like my eyes were plain. Except slowly and by myself I started to see the beauty in my eye-colour. I love my black eyes. I find dark eyes adorable, mysterious, pretty, defined and they're the perfect colour to me, for me. They don't need to carry light or even be flecked with gold or green, when they themselves always attract this twinkle of light that tells you nothing yet gives you all the safety you need to feel. I wouldn't want them any other way. Even Darcy fell for Elizabeth Bennet's dark, alluring eyes, at the ball, beside her fair-featured sister.
To this day, when I describe or draw the eye colour of my favourite heroine, I try to make the colour as dark and thereby enchanting, as possible.
