Burning Skies, Burning Heart’s

Eyes fluttering, a small smile graces your lips as you take on the view. You’re still not sure how you were convinced to go for such a long hike, but it’s worth it. It’s like you’re sitting on top of the world, high over the cityscape as the sun starts to descend. A beautiful sight, the sky ablaze with bright orange light, the sun casting warmth over you and Jimin.

Jimin.

Beautiful, lovely, amazing Jimin who sits diligently by your side, leaning back leisurely, legs crossed as he gazes outward over the cliffs edge. You had always thought he was one of the most gorgeous people you had ever seen, but now… He looks like an actual angel. Hair fluttering like a blonde ocean wave, brown eyes glimmerings like wildfire… It’s something you want to wake up to, to experience every day.

Your head stirs, thoughts bouncing back and forth between the good and bad. It’s been a struggle, holding in your feelings for the man for months now. What you have now is good, it’s great, and you don’t want to ruin it… But holding it in, you can’t do it anymore.

It’s the perfect time to say it, here in this beautiful place isolated from the rest of the earth. The perfect time to tell him how you really feel, right? You’ve already missed so many opportunities… Shifting slightly, your words don’t come out much louder than a whisper, hands clenching into the hard ground beneath you.

“I love- I’m in love with you Jimin…” You keep your face trained forward as the silence stretches out, heart beating wildly in your chest, unwanted wetness coming to your eyes. It only seems to speed up as Jimin grabs your hand, your head turning slowly to look at him. Instead of seeing a disapproving face, there sits Jimin’s stunning grin, face nearly shining with happiness as his eyes crinkle.

“Well, that’s a relief considering I’m very in love with you too.” It’s your turn to smile, the tears in your eyes dripping out as Min flusters. He raises his delicate fingers to your cheeks, moving closer to wipe away the sweet tears. Cupping your face, he chuckles a bit as you laugh at your own absurdity, thumbs stroking the delicate skin softly before he leans in.

And then he kisses you.

It’s so soft, his plush lips everything you had expected and more. They move against yours slowly, carefully, testing the waters, gauging your reaction. You smile into the kiss, hoping that he can feel every emotion, all of the affection you have for him.

And he does.

He does. He feels your want, your need, and he returns it tenfold. All of the worries you had before melt away in less than a second, replaced with hope for the future, your future with him. Jimin pulls away, eyes locked on you, arms wrapping around you steadily like they never want to let you go before he giggles and kisses your nose.

“Took us long enough, huh?”
