Did you become addicted to puzzles during the pandemic? Then i’ve got a puzzle for you! I spent SO much time and put SO much detail into this 1000 piece puzzle for everyone’s enjoyment. We or my parents own most of the things in this cozy cabin puzzle. That’s the view out of my parents window complete with apple trees, deer, snow, and bird feeder. The 2 black Newfoundlands and 1 Landseer Newf are my mom’s champion show dogs and she has way more ribbons and medals than are displayed here. The binoculars, the cat, the ax, the receiver, the horseshoe are my parents (no log cabin or stone fireplace though). The record player, magnifying glass, ukulele, Hawaiian doll, Daruma doll, Mexican painted skull, wooden model, photos, bow and arrows, plants, Husky, rug, couch and blanket, bull horn horn, Portuguese bird ornament, colored vases, campfire pot, socks and boots are ours. Day 1: "Growth"

One of the things I enjoy most in life is learning, growing, improving. I suppose it's my Capricorn nature to always be reaching for that next ledge. Sometimes these challenges are fun and easy. Sometimes they require more self analysis and correction.

I've been noticing a shift in my mentality towards this powerlessness and victim mindset. A feeling that things are out of my control or that my efforts are ultimately futile. I suspect I'm not the only one dealing with these issues in quarantine.

So I'm refocusing, reinvigorating my sense of self and personal power by doing what I do best... Learning! I did a study of the Manipura (Solar Plexus) Chakra and I'm working on rebalancing this energy to bring about some much needed growth in this area of my life.

I finally made a spread for my Color Wheel of the Year!! I've organized the year according to the color wheel and featured a more in depth look at the cross quarter days and the overlapping themes between the holidays and the colors they fall under according to the wheel.

The overall layout is:

January- Red

February- Magenta (red-violet)

March- Violet

April- Deep Periwinkle (blue-violet)

May- Blue

June- Turquoise (blue-green)

July- Green

August- Chartreuse (yellow-green)

September- Yellow

October- Amber (yellow- orange)

November- Orange

December- Vermilion (orange-red)

Ostara- Violet- Spirituality, Intuition, Perception. The veil is thin. Bring peace to opposing forces, use prophecy and spiritual helpers to bring to fruition your idealistic goals. Be creative and do ritualistic cleansing.

Litha- Turquoise- Take up space! Themes of abundance, growth, imagination, and expressiveness matched with the major solar power of the day demands nothing less than everything! Go! Do!

Mabon- Yellow- Clarity, in the between time after the harvest and before winter comes a brief reprieve to reflect, make clear decisions, communicate with loved ones and being joy & gratitude to the forefront. A good time to clear the air and be aware of all you've accomplished.

Yule- Vermilion- Confident and optimistic. The rebirth of the sun, it's love and warmth, reinvigorates our spirit towards self correction and thoughtful action. The high energy of Yule generates passion and determination for a new year!

Land Art

Connecting to the elements can be an important part of magical workings. As an art witch we can look to some amazing modern land artists for inspiration on how we can connect to the element of Earth in a creative and intuitive way.

James Brunt created these seaside stone masterpieces drawing on ancient imagery of concentric circles and spirals.

Andy Goldsworthy may be one of the most prolific artists of this genre. Here are a few of his stunning experiments with arranging colored leaves to enhance the energy of the world around him.

Cornelia Konrad creates magic with her gravity defying installations.

Here's a piece I did to honor and celebrate the unseen creatures of spring.

Day 15: White

The unlimited possibilities that await a blank page. The daunting task and expectations of filling empty space. All of the potential and yet complete stillness and serenity.

I had an assignment in art school to draw white eggs on a white background using nothing but colored pencils. I stared at those eggs for what seemed like forever until suddenly my perspective seemed to shift. The eggs came alive with color and I saw all sorts of greens, pinks, oranges and purples that made up their surfaces. I saw the whole world with fresh eyes, everything was so much more colorful than I had given it credit for.

I think about that assignment a lot. It comes to mind anytime I meditate on the color white. It is simultaneously nothing and potentially everything. It is what we see when all color lightwaves combine and yet it's colorless. It's all a matter of perspective.
