It’s crazy how much the show highlights colorism in the Stokes family without turning that lens on its lead. I guess since he’s got his eye on Tilda, we’re supposed to forget the way he’s treated/talked to Misty and Mariah versus the way he fawned over the pale women in his life (until said women proved themselves “imperfect,” that is).

I wonder if FKA twigs is provided the brown paper bag or she brings her own to her casting calls. Love her music and her talent is undeniable but the clear colorism and hypervisibility of lightskinned and/or racially ambiguous black people in her videos, shows and photoshoots makes me cringe more so than anything a self-identifying alt right member could do. Like I literally cannot look at anything she does without picking up the racial dynamics, it's jarring Such a talent, what a waste
