Abstract challenge 10 - colour play
This month it’s all about colours, or better: the play with different colours. James @jellytussle had the idea to make something like a colour study. I do love this a lot. Thank you James! Pete @tvoom @thevortexofourminds is so nice to make a short post about a bit of colour theory for this challenge which will follow tomorrow, and I think this will make this challenge a bit easier for those of you, who do not know too much about this subject.
I thought I will give you three examples for this challenge, but of course, you’re not limited to those. 1: a mix of many different colors which can end in a nice colorful chaos or can be in a special order, maybe like a colour palette. 2: colour harmony, which seems to be the part I do least in abstract photography, and that I think I should try more often. 3: colour contrast, which I use a lot, even in my “not abstract” photography, because it’s almost like a signal to me.
The ways you can play with colours are endless, and can be fascinating. Just the possibility how one can change the effect (or meaning) of one colour by adding a different colour into the same photo. So, let’s have fun to play around and study them.
I hope this was helpful (if not, I’m sure Pete’s post tomorrow will be). Please use the tag #abstract challenge in your first five tags and add @amymontico and me that we can find them.
A small colour play run! Its been a while since I’ve drawn anything that I feel actually happy with. Colours and techniques inspired by @tinypaint <3
Its been a while since I posted, and I apologise. A lot of stuff have been going on left right and center but I’m still here.
Lemme know if you guys wanna see more of these! (I may turn them into an adopt! )
Stay tubular!

Self Portrait
”The Path Divides Us” |Amanda Whitby Done in FireAlpaca One of my first digital works. Thankfully I’ve learnt a bit more about colouring and anatomy. Every artwork is definitely a creative process and I learn more and more every day, practice makes key.

I was suffering from a serious deficiency of inspiration yesterday, so I took a load of photos without a huge amount of thought. Today I processed this one to look like some of the cast headshots for the upcoming production of Angels in America.
I rather like it. Even if it does mean it’s two self-portraits in a row.
