jfc we love it in sweden wow!! we have not one but 4 part-competitions and like 2 move on from each part to the finale and all this is basically as important and fun to us as the actual ESC. i hear a lot of countries wont participate this year tho??

Same here, we have basically like a mini Eurovision with a semifinal and a final, but before that the contestants are probably chosen in private to see who goes through to the semi final, but months before the show the contestants chosen appear on local tv shows for interviews and often there's commercials where you get to see one of them performing their song so that basically by the time we're watching the semi finals everyone will be familiar with some of the songs. You know it's Eurovision season when local artists playing their fictional characters pretend to be taking part with a funny song like these guys and omg it's just months and months of endless Eurovision haha

Yeah I hear a lot of people saying they want to boycott the Eurovision, probably because of the whole neighbour voting thing or because they think it's a waste of money... I mean here in Malta you hear a lot of people saying that too especially since we've never won a single Eurovision (we've come close like second place and stuff but we've never won unless you count this year's Junior Eurovision lol), everyone says they're gonna boycott it by not watching but on the night of the final there wouldn't be a single soul on the street lol
