Some more of my series on Norlane, a Northern suburb of Geelong, about 55 mins from Melbourne. Originally settled by migrant workers coming into Geelong to work at Ford, Shell and nearby factories, housing was originally largely government. Some were even prefab homes imported from Europe. Closures across these local manufacturing sectors have affected the residents of Norlane. It undoubtedly has its share of problems, but the people I met we’re friendly and down to earth.
