Krynoss again
The sun dripped through the blinds, warming the room and leaving stripes of gold along their sleeping bodies.
Sound from the street and the city waking up bleeds through the walls and into the room. Eventually, it woke John, who propped himself up on one elbow and inhaled deeply, welcoming in the morning.
With a smile, he turned to his still-asleep partner and ran his fingers through his dark, fine hair slowly, gently. He didn’t want to wake him up.
It felt almost as if time has stopped; as if some benevolent god had placed them in a bubble so as to relish in their time together; to feel content and happy and nothing else.
Evan's eyes eventually fluttered open, taking in the sight of his love next to him and smiling. He moved into the hand caressing his head, humming in appreciation.
John's hand drifted down to cup Evan's cheek tenderly. Evan placed his hand over top of John's, rubbing his knuckles with his thumb.
Evan pulled himself up to be level with John, and he kissed him. John moved his hand from Evan's cheek to his jaw, and Evan's grasp landed on his wrist.
The skin on his jaw was soft and warm, and he smelt of honey and chocolate; rich and dizzying.
When he pulled away, the sun had shone through the blinds just right, painting Evan's skin with golden warmth. John couldn't resist placing a soft kiss to Evan's collarbone and murmuring words that only Evan would understand against his skin.
