We’re long overdue on sharing this can’t miss song from Alex Winston, of whom we’ve been an ardent fan since her terrific debut album King Con dropped back in 2012. In the years since, she’s taken her time to release solo material, though she did team up with MS MR’s Max Hershenow to form Post Precious, whom we gladly welcomed with open arms and fell in love with, too. Alex Winston captures a similar sense of keenly blooming love with her exuberant song Miss U 1000000. It’s a honeyed jingling celebration of new love whose glinting guitars and vintage undertone conjure Cults. Some of its euphonious and lissome vocals also evoke Visions-era Grimes, to my utter delight. I guess you can say that Miss U 1000000 is kind of like Tony Stark’s adorable line “I love you 3000″ in Avengers Endgame, but better. Way better. The animated production, with its lively, dance-ready cadence and soulful flares, come courtesy of none other than The Knocks, who form the perfect partnership with Alex Winston. According to the singer songwriter, who’s originally from Michigan: “"'Miss U 1000000' is about the uncertainty and excitement of new love. As I get older, my lyrics have turned more personal. Happiness is definitely not an emotion I’m used to writing about, but I think it’s important to celebrate the good things every once in a while." Alex gives us some insight into the video: "I'm a reality TV junkie. Larissa and Colt were my favorite couple on TLC's 90 Day Fiancé, and I wanted to recreate their iconic Las Vegas airport scene. I was so thrilled when Colt, Debbie, and Cookie Dough agreed to be in the video. We had a great time shooting this and spending the day with them. I've made so many music videos over the years, and this was definitely my favorite one to shoot."
