The guy looked vaguely familiar. Vaguely, which meant he couldn’t really, for the moment, place where he’d first seen him. Having never been one to stare, Kade looked away after only a brief second and slumped down against one of the courtyard benches. He was tired. He was always tired now and was convinced that the creatures down in the Pits were looking to kill him by overworking him, over-fighting him. It was as if they made fights purposefully impossible, something which always pissed Kade off. It didn’t sit right with him not allowing opponents to have a fair chance at their fight. Daring to look up to catch another look at the younger man, he realized where he knew him from but it was well before the war.
Kade zoned out then, something that usually was rare for him, but was slowly becoming a new habit. The guy was much younger when they’d first met, but it was unmistakable. He wondered if that meant there was a possibility the rest of his family was alive.
