Columbusland ep. 4 trailer is here!
Columbusland: Episode 2 is now online!
(via GatewayFilmCenter)
The first episode of Columbusland is now available online!
Check it out and see if it's as good as I said it was.
Columbusland Episode 2: Casino is now showing, 20 minutes before most movie screenings at Gateway Film Center, and Episode 3 is currently in production.
I can't wait.
Replacing "that god-awful stuff you have to sit through when you go to a movie theater," the Gateway Film Center's Columbusland series began screening before the pre-showtime trailers in November.
Hosts Johnny DiLoretto (director of operations at the Gateway Film Center and a former on-air TV personality), Gateway president Chris Hamel and Amy Schmittauer (digital consultant and online personality) describe their show as "a comedy talk show with cocktail-fueled conversation about movies."
"Columbus is going through a wonderful time, so the idea is to pick a different location and invite local people and talk about what’s happening in the city while we’re talking about movies," Hamel said. "That’s what we’re real passionate about: Columbus and movies."
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Columbusland and, holy cow, you need to see this. We only have the trailer here. To see the whole episode, get to the Gateway Film Center 20 minutes before most movie screenings and prepare to have your expectations for locally produced entertainment blown away.
What else are you going to do? Go to a mega-chain theater and sit through half an hour of commercials and the same four celebrity trivia questions they've been showing all year?
Columbusland features:
Chris Hamel - President of the Gateway Film Center
Johnny DiLoretto - Columbus Media Personality
Amy Schmittauer - Vlogger, self-described "social media frenzy"
and all kinds of special guests
Columbusland is produced by:
Kinopicz American - Great looking video and design here in Columbus, Ohio. I know these folks and you couldn't ask for a nicer group of people or higher quality video production. We'll be talking about another project of theirs in the near future.
The Gateway Film Center - central Ohio's first dedicated film center. It's big and shiny and awesome, so you might assume it's part of some mega-chain, but it's independent. Now that I think about it, the awesomeness may come from being independent, so that shouldn't be a surprise. Even if you don't attend OSU or spend time near campus, the Gateway Film Center is worth the trip. Parking is easy, you can get some food and a drink and enjoy one of the best theater experiences around.
