Classic Mint Julep from The Victorian Lounge at The Columns Hotel
I'd like to apologize for the delay in posting this past week. I try to do things on this blog chronologically, which meant waiting for a camera cord issue to be resolved. Anyway, here we are, having Christmas Day brunch at the Columns Hotel on St. Charles Avenue. I've omitted the heinous picture I took of the lobster bisque that was served as a first course. Next up was a strawberry and spinach salad. The greenery, I remember, was lovely but the dressing was something akin to raspberry flavored Elmer's glue. The main course was a Louisiana style crab cake. I was unlucky enough to find a piece of shell in mine. For dessert there was some kind of spiced bread pudding. Ginger, maybe? Unfortunately that's the thing about memory. It decays.
