Sacred Animal Vs Outlands - 'Com Ocean'
'Com Ocean' by Virginia crew Outlands is a Gothic disco spin; operatic vocals treated to ethereal effects and a steely guitar funk. Dublin-based producer Sacred Animals whisks that Goth from the dance floor for a twisted carnival trip guided by a cosmic torch. Light is shed on the whispered theatrics and deep richness of singer Melissa's opulent voice, while eerie keys and M83-ish synth action on top of crisp electronics accent a strong and flaying, romantic ballad. Quite gorgeous really.
Outlands have an eponymous EP coming out on September 20th via their Bandcamp (link below.) Next month the title track will be released with a host of remixes including Dream Cop, Mirror Kisses, TEXTBEAK & DEFA, Tokyo Hands as well this very Sacred Animals one.
