Sometimes, magic, witchcraft, brujería, is just cooking your family’s recipes and using your abuela’s comal to make a meal.
Just a Taste
He shouldn't have drink that wine. Red, ancient, slightly sweet, dangerous...damn gypsy wine. He knew it was special, Manolo knew that wine was not only delicious but contained special herbs, cinnamon and a pitch of “magic”. It tricked people, it seemed suave in the mouth but in truth it was strong, it went straight up to the head after the fourth sip.
He opened the door slowly, he wasn’t tripping over his feet like drunk men usually did, he was fully aware of his motor functions, which was bad. Manolo decided to sit in a dark corner, if he stayed in his room he knew we would end up drinking more, if he went up the deck the captain might notice and give him a thousand lashes. So he stayed, sat there and waited to sober up...the damn aphrodisiac formula was slowly kicking in as well.
“Mierda...” *he whispers to himself*
Everything was going well...if Lesaro didn’t pass by. Comal looked up, he wasn’t himself anymore, a primal instinct was taking over his heart and mind , a thought came...Lesaro was his friend right? They hangout quite often...What if he surprises him? In a way, he couldn’t escape, in a way he couldn't recognize him at first? He might think it was someone else even? Daring...he felt like lurking in the shadows like a jaguar, and the lieutenant was prey. He waited for a few minutes, not even breathing...When Guillermo was close enough ,he stood up quickly, sneaking behind him. his hand over Lesaro’s eyes, his arm around his torso, immobilizing him. Manolo turns Gui’s head to the side, forcefully but not hurting him...and bit his neck. The sweet spot most people had.
