So I was reading your post about last episode and you assume Agatha is getting her power next episode so she should already have her prize right? I don't actually think Agatha is doing the Road for her power but for something else. The reason I think this is because all Agatha needs to do to get magic back is be blasted by it and no offense to our beloved Agatha she is kind of the easiest person alive to want to blast with magic.

Now sure we could take her going on the Road as her attempting to cheat, cut corners since she would probably have to work a lot to get back to her power level pre WandaVision, but also she is kind of homicidal so I don't think that is a big deal.

Agatha is absolutely not doing the road for her power, my gut tells me it was because of wanting to see what Teen wants and getting something herself in the mean time maybe Nick or something related to Rio

Ah yes, but you see, that depended on if she passed the trial! Which they all very much... did not. So our girl is still powerless, and now presumingly drowning in mud for the next week. A real rock bottom situation.

My read on it is that she is doing it for power- but lots of it. You're totally right she could just get some magic back by finding and irritating enough witches to give her some juice back; but consider that previously Agatha had the fruit of 350 years of serial murder AND the Darkhold at her disposal.

Now, she can't hide from her ex-lover, who wants her back one way or the other, and one of those ways is her death. Further, there aren't that many witches currently alive- not to mention she's homicidal, not genocidal. She does want some witches to continue to live to continue their magical work (she can't do everything herself!). The pressure Rio's putting on her is pretty heavy, b/c even if Agatha was able to defeat the Salem Seven alone, Rio would just keep sending more vengeance seekers after her- and Rio knows about every single last one.

I do however, think it's pretty suspect that Rio was so eagar to put her on the Road- there's a reason Agnes was humming the song in the first few seconds of the show, and I'm not sure Billy had the skill to influence her like that. I could be wrong, but I'm getting the same itch you are anon about there being more to motive here than meets the eye.

I’m really intrigued by one victor and better together

Dear Anon,

As the holiday season approaches, I’m slowly getting back on track. I haven’t written in so long that I’m amazed I still remember how to do it! 

Anyway, I feel like I’m finally making some progress and, since you were kind enough to ask, I decided to share this little snippet with you. 

I have a little something from Better Together, but I’ll post it later. For now, here’s a little something from One Victor (Chapter 16). Hope you enjoy.

Katniss stepped out of the busy corridors of the Hob and onto the cold street. With a shiver, she tightened her scarf around her neck and turned towards the Seam.

She had almost reached the end of the building when a familiar pea coat caught her eye.

“Peeta!” she called out.

Startled, Peeta stopped short. His hands tightened protectively over the strap of the messenger bag he carried. As recognition set in, he relaxed. “Hey, Katniss!”

In a few steps, Katniss closed the distance between them. “Visiting Taryn?”

With a shake of his head, Peeta opened his bag. Four white liquor bottles sparkled in the wintry sunlight. “Ripper.”

Shocked, Katniss gasped. Her stormy eyes found his. “Why?”

Touched by Katniss’s concern, Peeta explained. “It’s not for me.” With a sad smile, he tilted his head towards Victors’ Village.

Relief colored Katniss’s delicate features. She had never spoken to Haymitch, but everyone knew he drank from sunup till sundown. Moving in closer, she whispered, “I thought he got shipments sent from the Capitol.”

“He does, but it’s not enough. Sometimes he needs more.”

A small group of miners walked past, a fragment of their hushed laughter trailed behind. Annoyed by the mischief in their curious eyes, Katniss pulled away.

Following her lead, Peeta straightened up and readjusted the bag over his shoulders. “Are you headed home?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“Mind if I tag along?”

Katniss shook her head no. Turning towards the Seam, they began to walk.  

A couple of blocks later, Peeta asked, “So, did you catch anything good today?”

“Not really,” she grumbled, “just a couple of squirrels, and a scrawny badger.”

“Two squirrels, huh? Did you take them to the bakery?”

“I did.”

“I bet my dad was pleased.”

“He was.” With a satisfied smile, Katniss patted her hunting bag. “He gave me a full rye for them.”

Peeta nodded. The idea of his father exchanging bread with Katniss pierced his heart –it was just another reminder that life went on without him. Focusing back on the conversation, he asked, “What did you do with the badger?”

Katniss pointed back to the Hob. “I gave it to Sae. She’ll probably turn it into a stew.”

Peeta wrinkled his nose. “A badger stew?”

“Yup.” Leaning slightly into him, she whispered, “she probably won’t call it that, though.”

Peeta laughed. The happy sound was like music to Katniss’s ears.

Looking in his direction, she noticed they had taken the long route and were about to reach the Meadow.  Stopping for a moment, she took in the sight of the vast expanse covered in white snow. Beyond it, the fence and her woods called out.

“Is that how you get out?” Peeta asked pointing to a spot to their left where a small mound of snow rested against the fence barely disguising the opening in the chicken wire.

“Yeah, but I don’t use that one, though. My bow and arrows are stashed in a hollow tree trunk further ahead. There’s another exit there.”

anyways, the girls of both class 1-a and class 1-b create their own agency to help young heroes in training learn how to cooperate with others even when quirks don't necessarily go together and team building skills, the girls themselves are separated into teams that work in different branches of heroism and are one of the top agencies that train successful heroes.

my (LDR) partner and i's 1 yr anniversary was 1/14/17 and we skyped the whole evening/night and they showed me what they made for me (hadn't gotten the chance to ship it yet, it was a positivity jar with nice things all my friends said about me on the outside!!!) and they opened the thing i painted for them (which was a painting of us when we met for the first time irl, from the first selfie we took together) and we watched Hairspray Live and just had a lot of fun and were very gay and happy!!!

Gay happiness is my favorite kind of happiness!! You guys sound really good for each other and super in love, I’m so happy to hear about it :D <3333333333333

may i point out that billy full on said nicholas scratch, which i think really hit the nail on the head for agatha because the sigil didn’t stop him?

i also like to think that the ending was what billy had in mind for his reveal. a close up shot with a billie eilish song. very teenager very edgelord of him

I think that was one thing, but I also think that fact that he was doing exactly what Wanda does when she's being really self righteous cemented it into place for her. Like, she knew, but she Knew when he got up on his moral high horse in the face of her regret.

That's so meta, but I totally agree 😭 such teen, much edge. not very mindful or demure.

Hi there, I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your analyses for Agatha, they were always super insightful. I am really curious about some of the details you mentioned regarding the changes in the storyline like the original Rio and Agatha backstory with Nicky, the fact that the Nicky story we saw was a reshoot in January, Rio’s line about the S7 being ADRed in, and the cabin from Ep. 5 being the one Rio and Agatha lived in and I was wondering if you could direct me to where you learned this, since I would love to dive deeper into the changes they made. Thanks so much, and amazing work as always!

How's your portugese? Because you're going to need it. A lot of this has been gleaned from leakers in Brazil, mostly on instagram, as well as leakers on Twitter, interviews with the cast and crew, and their instagram stories. I'd link you, but the nebulous nature of instagram means most of the posts are in the wind, and I just have my own notes about them- that I didn't necessarily keep in any kind of forensic order.

Keeping in mind, most of the leaks you want to give a grain of salt to; but I've heard it from multiple, different, mostly reliable sources that the Nick story was changed, late- which is why I ran with it.

All the info I have, I've given! I wish I had more! If anyone has anything else, please leave in the replies! I sincerely doubt we'll ever get more official word, but maybe the art book will have some clues?
