How low can some of you guys get? Thanks to some of you for making us feel even worse than we already are. Really appreciate that. So lovely of you
My Most Unpopular Star Wars Opinions
- The acting in the prequels isn’t bad, but the horrific script, directing, plotting, and racial caricatures make them nigh-unwatcheable.
- Jyn Erso is a necessary, important female character with a good arc. While I understand and support a lot of critiques of her from the racial axis, I also think that much of the constant stuff about her being an “unlikable bastard” is couched in misogyny.
- Leia’s plot lines were not actually handled particularly well in the OT.
- Some of Han Solo’s most “iconic” romantic scenes come off as really uncomfortable and predatory.
- John Boyega is the most attractive actor in Star Wars.
- Anyone who thinks Finn isn’t force-sensitive didn’t watch the same movie I did.
- Casting Lupita Nyong’o to be a CGI’d alien for 10 minutes is the greatest waste in Star Wars history.
- It’s a disgrace Finnrey isn’t either the #1 or #2 TFA ship. (Again, were we watching the same movie?)
- Ahsoka’s tube top costume is terrible.
No there ain't nothing that I gotta prove
You think your words will make me black and blue
But I, I think I'm pretty with these old boots on
I think its funny when I drink too much, hey
You try and change me you can go to hell
'Cause I don't want to be nobody else
Are ppl seriously criticizing Magnus concerning next week’s episode before they even see the actual episode? (Also him giving up his magic is like giving up an essential part of himself, like a limb but even more so, it makes sense that he’d go to great lengths to get that back - btw why isn’t Jace working on some way to help him?? He owes him his life! - but also not wanting to be a burden to his close ones so keeping it secret like in case it doesn’t work not to get their hopes up for him.)
I’ve seen it more on twitter than on tumblr but yes. People are literally already screaming about ooc-ness, how this ruins his character development, that he’s lying to Alec, etc. And I’m just not here for it.
First of all, there’s no saying what is out of character for Magnus right now. Like you said, he’s literally given up an essential part of himself. Part of his soul and his blood and his physical being. He’s allowed to act out and make questionable choices. He’s allowed to be “not himself”. We already see him doing it in his desperation to make every second count, rushing from thing to thing. Not letting Alec get too close. Not pushing him away, not really, he’s trying to let him in and keep him close, but he’s struggling. He’s allowed.
How does it ruin his character development? If anything it furthers it. His whole world is different. It hurts but I love and look forward to seeing how he deals with it.
Also, we don’t even know if he does fucking lie to Alec. In my opinion that face he makes when Alec asks him looks like the face he makes when he doesn’t want to answer but does. We don’t know how this will play out. We don’t know why he’s making the choice to go to Lorenzo. So everyone needs to chill.
As for Jace don’t get me started. Jace has been thinking with his dick since literally the first episode so I don’t expect that to change. He should be offering to help Magnus, he should be telling Alec he wants to help, he should be thanking Magnus. But we won’t get any of that because omg Clary. I didn’t expect anything else.
