7 Types of Comic-Con Cosplayers

I have been to Comic-Con numerous times and have cosplayed the past 3 years. I have noticed that their are different types of cosplayers and I am here to tell you what those types are:

1. The For Fun Cosplayer

These people Cosplay at comic-con because its looks fun. They want to try something new and different. Most of the time, these cosplays are a bit lesser quality and are usually easily recognizable.

2. The Commercial Cosplayers

These people have been cosplaying for a long time. When they go to events such as Comic-Con they do it with the intention to get the press to be interested in their cosplay. When it comes to Comic-Con they only go for their cosplay and having pictures taken of them. These cosplays are usually well made and are used for commercial purposes. 

3. The Crossplayer

These cosplayers usually cosplay as something or someone of the opposite gender.  

4. The Over The Top Cosplayer

These cosplayers usually have cosplays that take countless hours to make. These cosplays are always very well done and gather alot of attention from other cosplayers and many Comic-Con attendees.

5. The Sex Appeal Cosplayer

One thing that is a guarantee when you go to Cosplay is to see cosplayers that aim for the sex appeal rather than the authenticity of the Cosplay. These Cosplayers usually get alot of attention for how they look rather than how good their cosplay is designed.

6. The Acting Cosplayer

These Cosplayers usually only cosplay because it is needed for a panel or an event that is taking place at Comic-Con. These cosplays tend to be way over the top and sometimes even have security to guide them through the con so people aren't taking pictures.

7. The Booth Cosplayer

These Cosplayers are usually hired by a specific company to cosplay and stand by their booth so people can take pictures. Their is usually a line you have to wait in to get a picture with these cosplayers and almost always will have members of the booth watching over the cosplayer.

Now it is important to note that Cosplayers come in many different forms and and have many different reasons for Cosplaying. This list of 7 types of cosplayers is not intended to be an end all list for cosplayers at Comic-Con. From my personal experience at Comic-Con these kinds seem to be the most prevalent at Comic-Con.
