There is a lot here I don’t disagree with but generally this is very much on the money (though it ignores how this is a Miles Morales movie).

And it’s from CBR of all places! WTF!

Furthermore, it can be argued that the best Spider-Man stories take place when Peter younger and in high school.

Folks at CBR be trying to excuse Superior because:

Well if your saying the story doesn’t work because everyone didn’t care Peter acted differently that’s like being the guy who says nobody is stupid enough to open that locked door in the haunted house. You gotta let things go when things are about to get exciting! And yeah Peter forgave Otto after Superior but Peter is that sorta guy! It’s not like there was any irreparable damage done. Things turned out okay in the end and hey, Otto had a redemptive moment after all!

Sometimes I wonder if I just read these special variant versions of every Spider-Man story and actually everyone else read something different because I trust I don’t need to go into why this is so...you know...

I'm so glad this comic is still going. I have no freakin' clue if it was on hiatus or canceled /still trying to learn how Image works with canceling books (if that's even a thing)

Now I just need to get the last two trades since space cup cakes is still TBA.

Maybe I'm being over sensitive...

Comikaze was last week, so naturally lots of websites have been posting their coverage of the event. This morning thespidersam got a link to his picture on Comic Book Resources gallery of Comikaze. The caption read "What if Scott Baio played Namor in the 80s?" Now that was pretty funny. In the picture, he kinda does look like Scott Baio. It was some of the other captions on the photos I wasn't okay with. 

On a picture of a Sonic the Hedgehog cosplayer the caption read:

I'm in a nice mood today, so let's just say a very questionable Sonic the Hedgehog.

And the caption on a picture of a girl's gothic lolita costume read:

Something Anime. Something I don't watch. Something I'm gonna ignore.

Not all of the captions are like that but there are a few more. Maybe I'm being over sensitive but I feel like these sort of comments can be hurtful. What if Comikaze was that Sonic's first cosplay experience? What if that lolita girl spent hours and hours making that outfit? They're hard work is being called questionable and not worth the time. Costuming is about having fun and showing appreciation for characters and fandoms. Sure some costumes might look more finessed than others but everyone has a starting point. If that costumer is proud of their work that's what matters. 

I thought about writing the website but it says the commentary, oh sorry I mean "gentle ribbing" is by the executive producer so even if I expressed my concerns it probably wouldn't matter.

I don't know, I have a hard time explaining my feelings. I just feel like if you take pictures of costumers it is unfair to tear them down. They didn't pose for that photo so you could make fun of them. They posed because they were having fun and they were flattered that you enjoyed their work. To then label a Captain America "scrawny" or Big Macintosh "hick anime?" seems like a slap in the face. Or maybe it's just me, I don't know...
