Penultimate #comicJamuary, and a good thing, too, because my supply of untapped #dollarcomics is running low. But I'm going to miss grabbing an unfamiliar floppy and flipping through it for panels that have interesting poses and speech bubbles to riff on. I can't tell you anything about the context of this one in the story, but I can tell you that #bodypoetry had already been on my mind today.
Only three days of #comicjamuary after today. I don’t have a solid project plan for February to continue this trend of daily art. Non-coincidentally, I only have one page left in my 9x12 sketchbook. It’s been with me for 4 years. I’ll be happy to start a new one (and move to smaller books when it’s feasible), but there are still loose ends in this sketchbook. Ideas to follow up on, plans to follow through on. It’s not a painless transition, but it’s not one I can put off any longer.
Anyone else read Federal Bureau of Physics? Just me? . . . #comicjamuary is barely half over and I’m already sad about it ending in a couple weeks. The discipline of drawing every day has been grueling at times. Sometimes it feels like I’m burning the candle at both ends (hello, 5:45am wake ups), but under such pressure, it’s nice that drawing every night is not optional. It doesn’t need to be pretty, it doesn’t need to be elaborate, it just needs to get done. I enjoy the process, too. Overall, it ends up a very rewarding practice.
Two hours of troubleshooting later, a wild #comicJamuary appears! Set-up frustrations aside, I'm incredibly pleased with my new intuos. Pressure sensitivity is once again mine! Aaaaaaah, starting out the long weekend by filing my taxes and drawing Bogey as Bufkin in Fable. :) . . . I'm going to have some time out and about over the weekend and will have the chance to browse a comic book store or two. It’s fitting that I drew Bogey as #speedy from Teen Titans today because this #comicjamuary was done in a flash! . . . This doodle has a long and convoluted story behind it that I’m not going to tell because I’m in a hurry to meet a friend to see Jumanji. And also it’s not that interesting 😬😬😊
