I adore the Edwin/Simon scene in Hell. It's lovely to see that someone who's repressed his sexuality for so long allows himself to feel it and to help others, even his killer, accept himself. It's powerful that Simon earns his peace after that and meets loads of queer people. It's interesting that in the Sandman comics it's Charles who says, "Hell is something you carry around with you. Not somewhere you go." Did you have that in mind when filming the scene? Did Edwin remember his words? Love to think he thought of Charles because he showed him he deserves love."
