This fall, I’ll be teaching two poetry comics workshops at PUSH/PULL, a Seattle-based underground art and comics studio. Both courses will be fully online.

Workshop: Create a poetry comic!

🗓️ October 27, 6–7:30PM PT • $25 • Online

In this 1.5 hour workshop, we’ll walk through the steps of creating a poetry comic. Students will leave this class having created a two-panel poetry comic, and have a framework for creating more comics in future.

You'll gain some high-level strategies for how poetry cartoonists combine words and images for different effects. This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced cartoonists.

Four-week intensive workshop: Dive deep in poetry comics

🗓️ Thursdays in November [except 11/23], 5–7PM PT • $100 • Online

In this four-session intensive course, students will explore the work of poetry cartoonists throughout time, create in different styles, explore finding their own voices, and complete a minicomic by the end of the course.

This will be a small and interactive course, capped at 10 students. Each session is two hours.
