I really might have done it! I just finished the last page of book 3 of Twisted - the biggest thing I have worked on to this date (the whole book, not that page, though that page hat me in fear for quite some time). When I realized that i wanted to do intricate hatching in black and white my mind wandered to the one scratchboard i once bought - in A4 size. Even digitally i am no where near where I want my hatching to look and i work in 3x the size of the finished page. While I am happy with the overall feel of this page, i have so SO much more in front of me and am also very glad, that this is not my desired style for twisted - i want stark contrasts and big areas or eerie detail and not b+w rendered realistic textures. I am pretty glad I decided to do this digitally, even though it will miss a lot of the effect I wish I could do traditionally. It took me so many Strg Z and reworking of whole areas... First lesson: do a value study BEFORE starting. Not just to organize the page... This chapter will go up starting in 2 weeks from now and just have 4 pages and then... book 4 is done.
